On the upper floors of a riverside mall in Nakasu, this museum collects only modern and contemporary Asian art, which is rare. Paintings and installations from India, Southeast Asia, China and beyond hang side by side, so walking the galleries feels like hopping between countries. The permanent collection costs a few hundred yen, which makes it an easy add-on for a rainy Hakata day. Windows look down on the river and the Nakasu streets.
