Carl Jacobsen, son of the Carlsberg brewery's founder, collected the sculptures and paintings that fill this museum. Past the entrance you step into a winter garden of palms under a glass dome, and plenty of people say sitting on a bench there on a cold day is worth the ticket alone. The collection runs from ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman sculpture to Rodin and French painters such as Gauguin and Monet. Head up to the roof terrace for a look over Tivoli and the city.
