The whole story of Denmark runs through one building, from the Vikings to modern times. Runestones, Bronze Age horns and Viking weapons draw the eye. With kids, the separate Children's Museum is free. You do not need a full day: the Viking floor alone fills a couple of hours. The coins and medals galleries are closed for renovation.
