A day up the north coast, all on one train line. Get off first at Humlebæk for Louisiana: low white buildings tucked between grassy slopes and the sea, Giacometti figures in front of windows looking across the Øresund to Sweden. Back on the train to Helsingør, Kronborg, the castle Shakespeare used as the setting for Hamlet, sits right on the water. Down in the dark casemates, the stone figure of Holger the Dane sleeps until Denmark needs him.
