Put your face in the water and there are people standing in rows on the sand. Since 2010 about 500 life-size sculptures have been sunk off Cancún, and the headline piece is Jason deCaires Taylor's The Silent Evolution, more than 400 figures in one crowd. Coral and algae grow over them and fish move in, so they change year by year. At 3–6 m deep you can see them clearly from the surface with a snorkel, though choppy days cloud the water.
