Tucked between the resorts is a small Maya site you'd never expect. It was a settlement on the old coastal trade route, and low platforms and temple bases line a stone street, with a small exhibit room. Iguanas far outnumber visitors, one basking on every block. It won't floor you like Chichén Itzá, but it's a good taste of the Maya world without leaving Cancún.
