Behind the beach hotels, the lagoon shows a different face. The water is still and mangrove roots tangle above the surface, so a kayak glides almost silently. Herons and pelicans pass overhead, and on a sunset trip the water turns orange. Tours usually run two to three hours with life jacket, guide and water included. If crocodiles are your goal, ask the operator before booking.
