A Belgian baron fell for Indian temples and built this house in 1911. Elephant statues and dancing deities greet you at the gate, and for a moment you forget which country you're in. The restored rooms are open to walk through, and the roof looks over the Heliopolis streets. An hour is enough, so it slots easily between other stops.
