This is the highest viewpoint in the city: the Danube curves away below you, with its bridges, the castle and the distant Parliament all in one frame. The fortress on top, the Citadella, reopened in spring 2026 after 11 years of works, with a new exhibition called the Bastion of Liberty and a rooftop terrace, and the Liberty Statue holding up her palm frond right beside it. The park and viewpoints are free, so plenty of people come up at dusk, watch the city light up and walk back down.
