The steps of this columned neoclassical building are where, as the story goes, the demands of the 15 March 1848 revolution were read out. Inside, Roman finds sit in the lower level of the grand staircase hall, and upstairs the permanent exhibition runs from the founding of the state to 1990. Coronation-era objects, old weapons and royal furniture come in chronological order. The garden holds Roman stone fragments and is a quiet place to sit.
