Under a roof of patterned Zsolnay tiles, the red-brick hall opens into long aisles beneath an iron-girder ceiling. The ground floor is strings of red paprika, salami, goose liver and Tokaji wine; the basement has fishmongers and pickle stalls. Upstairs, between the souvenir stands, the smell of frying gives away the lángos counters: deep-fried dough under garlic, sour cream and grated cheese. It opened in 1897, and the building alone is worth the stop.
