Frederick the Great built this single-storey summer palace to live 'sans souci', without cares. The yellow palace stretches along the top of six terraces of grapevines, and the view up from the fountain below is pure postcard. Inside, a dozen or so Rococo rooms are seen on a timed entry. The park is huge: add the New Palace, the Chinese House and the Orangery and your day is full. People leave potatoes on Frederick's grave, thanking him for popularising them.
