A café tucked into the hutongs off Gulou East Street, with a courtyard terrace at the back that fills first on a good day. Brunch, coffee and beer all come from the same kitchen, which makes it an easy place to rest after walking Nanluoguxiang. It stays open from morning-ish until midnight, so a late start is fine.
