Somboon started as a small eatery in 1969 and now has eight branches in Bangkok. The headline dish is pu phat phong kari, crab stir-fried with curry powder and egg into a thick, rich sauce you'll spoon over rice until you forget about the shells. The Banthat Thong branch sits on the street-food strip locals now flock to, so dinner can roll straight into a wander. The restaurant says its glass-noodle baked prawns have been recommended in the Michelin Guide Bangkok since 2018 (Surawong branch).
