Two tall red pillars stand in the middle of the road: the Giant Swing, where men once rode up to snatch a bag of coins from the air. Across the street, Wat Suthat has a ceiling far overhead and walls packed with murals, with a huge gilded Buddha seated in the middle. It is much quieter than the Grand Palace or Wat Pho, so you can actually take your time.
