A stone-stepped lane climbs straight up the middle of the village, lined with houses that share the same gate design. The first thing you notice is how clean it is, not a scrap of litter. Some families open their courtyards so you can see a traditional compound and buy snacks and drinks. A bamboo forest stands above the village and its temple sits at the top.
