You drop down a stairway from the road, squeeze through a narrow split in the rock, and a little white-sand cove opens up. It turns up in Eat Pray Love, so plenty of people stop by, and the shade under the big boulder at one end is the best place to park a towel. Surfers work the reef break off the mouth of the cove, which makes sitting on the sand and watching reason enough to stay. At high tide the beach shrinks to a thin strip.
