Address
Enter at 250 Mount Eden Road and walk to the summit

The highest volcanic cone in the city, 196 metres. At the top a grassy crater drops away like a funnel at your feet, and past it runs the Sky Tower, the harbour and Rangitoto. Private cars have been banned from the summit since 2016, so you walk, but the road is gentle and trainers are plenty. A boardwalk circles the crater rim to protect the terraces of the old Māori pā, so stay on it.
