A timber building deep inside Xibu Street. The 'ni' in the name is the Chinese giant salamander, served here from farmed stock. If that's a step too far, stick to sanxia guo, dagu pi beef tripe and crisp little Jinbian Stream fish. Drummers and performers in Miao dress work the room during dinner, which is what most reviews remember; the food itself tends to get an 'okay to good'.
