The museum mirrors the Kunsthistorisches across the square, and inside it is all marble stairs and a gilded dome. The Venus of Willendorf, around 29,500 years old, sits in a small room of her own, and the dinosaur hall and mineral cabinets are worth the detour. A guided roof tour takes you up to a terrace at eye level with the KHM dome and the Ring.
