This is where Ulaanbaatar does its shopping: a sprawling market, half under roofs and half open-air, its aisles hung with silk deels, felt boots, saddles and bridles and fur hats. In one corner they sell ger frames and painted wooden ger doors. Hunting for cashmere, snuff bottles or Soviet-era badges is half the fun. Prices are loose; buy a few things and you might get 10,000–20,000₮ off. Keep your wallet in an inside pocket.
