Under a red-brick arched roof, two floors of butchers, cheesemongers, fishmongers and bakers. The sandwich everyone queues for is peameal bacon: thick Canadian back bacon rolled in cornmeal, piled into a bun. The lower level is good for gifts like maple syrup, preserves and icewine. On Saturdays a farmers' market sets up across the road in the North Market from dawn.
