A bakery in the South Market dressed up with carousel horses, and the place nearly everyone leaves holding a peameal bacon sandwich. Peameal bacon is brined pork loin rolled in yellow cornmeal, so it comes thick and ham-like rather than in crispy strips. It's just a kaiser roll stacked with slices of the stuff, and mustard is non-negotiable. The glass case on the right holds egg tarts, pecan tarts and other sweets.
