The roof is not what you expect from a temple. Stone walls, arches and rounded towers recall ancient Indian architecture. Inside the main hall, a Western pipe organ plays Buddhist hymns. On the last Friday of each month there is a free lunchtime organ recital. Cafe Tsumugi on the grounds serves an 18-dish breakfast set in the morning; go early.
