The wharf is where Dadaocheng's old streets run out into the river. At dusk the sky glows over the Sanchong skyline across the water and the shipping-container stalls by Pier 5 light up. Pizza, hot dogs and grilled skewers draw queues, and riverside tables fill fast. Weekends sometimes bring buskers or puppet theatre. Mosquitoes are real, so bring repellent if you linger after dark.
