Board the big green ferry at Circular Quay and it slides right past the Opera House, out past the harbour cliffs, and docks at Manly 30 minutes later. Plenty of visitors treat it as a cruise at bus-fare prices. Walk The Corso from the wharf to a surf beach lined with Norfolk pines, or follow the seafront path south about 15 minutes to sheltered Shelly Beach for a snorkel. Take the return ferry at dusk and the sun goes down over the Opera House.
