Look out to sea and container ships sit at anchor in rows to the horizon. In the woodland behind, gun emplacements and tunnels the British built against a Japanese attack still stand. At sunset the sky reddens as the ships switch on their lights, which is why locals come here for it. Fewer people than downtown, and a good breeze.
