The flagship of a rice-cake and pastry maker founded in 1875, opposite Yong'an Department Store on the Nanjing Road pedestrian street. Six of the seven takeaway windows out front sell rice cakes made that day. Shuangniang tuan is a big glutinous ball rolled in coconut, with red bean and black sesame in two layers; tiaotougao is a long roll of red-bean-filled rice dough brushed with osmanthus syrup. The mugwort-green qingtuan isn't just a spring thing here; they sell it all year.
