Peng Jinyang, known as Captain George, won the 2025 World Brewers Cup; this is the Shanghai outpost of the brand he built in Guiyang. Push open the heavy walnut doors set in a grey stone portal and you're in something like a 19th-century apothecary: dark wood cabinets, shelves of glass jars, warm yellow light. The space splits into a casual lounge, a counter selling custom-blended beans, and the BREW LAB, where competition-grade beans are brewed. If you take your coffee seriously, it's worth the queue.
