After dark, amps switch on all along the 'Walking Street' and K-pop cover dancers and buskers draw tight circles of people holding up phones. The side lanes are packed with instant photo booths, character-goods shops and vintage clothing. Take the other side of Hongik Univ. Station and the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, a disused railway turned into a park, runs up to Yeonnam-dong, where people sit on the grass with beers. On Friday and Saturday nights, club queues run until dawn.
