Founded in 1939, Hadongkwan has built its Myeong-dong reputation around one bowl of gomtang. Its clear, deep beef broth carries brisket, offal and tripe, with rice warmed in the soup. Chopped scallion and Seoul-style kkakdugi give the restrained broth a sharp counterpoint. It opens early and may close when the day’s soup is gone.
