Address
Head west from Fira bus station to the cliff edge; the clifftop path runs north to Firostefani

Fira sits on top of a caldera cliff nearly 300 metres high and is the island's hub. Step onto any cliffside lane and the volcanic islands and the anchored cruise ships are laid out below you. The lanes are packed with shops, restaurants and bars, and bell towers and white roofs step down the rock. A zigzag stairway drops to the old port; walk it or take the cable car. In the evening, stroll a little north toward Firostefani and you get a sunset nearly as good as Oia's with far more elbow room.
