The Main Quad at the heart of campus; visitor centre at 295 Galvez St

Inside the Main Quad, with its sandstone arcades and red-tile roofs, the gold mosaic of Memorial Church flashes in the sun. The 87-metre Hoover Tower rises next door, and Rodin bronzes stand outside the Cantor Arts Center. Many visitors fold this into a Silicon Valley day with Google in Mountain View, the Apple Park visitor centre in Cupertino and NVIDIA. The companies are spread out, so you need a car or a tour, and what you get is visitor centres, gift shops and photos in front of the logos rather than a look inside.
