A small castle hidden in the woods on top of the Mönchsberg, the rock ridge behind the old town. With just 24 rooms it's quiet, and it's adults only. The glass-walled restaurant looks over the city to the Alps, and an outdoor pool and hot tub open in season. Getting down means a forest path or the Mönchsberg lift into the old-town lanes.
