This is the seat of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa and the heart of Catholic life in the Northern Marianas. It feels like a neighbourhood church rather than a sight, and at morning Mass you can watch locals arrive one by one. Sunday Masses run separately in Chamorro, English and Tagalog, a quick read of who lives on the island. Sit quietly at the back during Mass, or visit outside service times.
