Blue and white whale-watching boats are tied up in a row, with ticket huts and fish-soup shacks along the pier. Tours head out into Faxaflói Bay looking for minke and humpback whales, dolphins and harbour porpoises. It's colder and bumpier out there than you'd think; you'll end up at the rail zipped into the overalls the company lends you. Even without a boat trip, walk west toward Grandi, where old warehouses have become shops and restaurants.
