The thing to order is a fish pan: Arctic char, cod or plaice cooked in butter with vegetables in a cast-iron pan and set down still sizzling. It comes with potatoes and salad, so portions are generous. Dead central, a notch cheaper than the fancy seafood rooms, and packed with travellers every evening. A safe bet for one proper Icelandic fish dinner.
