The official site says Jakub Pinkas opened it in 1843 and that it was the first place in Prague to pour Pilsner Urquell. The beer still comes from stainless tanks and is served across three floors, cellar included. The kitchen leans on 18th- and 19th-century family recipes: svíčková and goulash are 339 Kč each, the whole roast knuckle 589 Kč, and Pilsner 82 Kč for 0.47 l. From May to September there's a garden at the foot of the Church of Our Lady of the Snows.
