The gondola lifts off over An Thoi harbour and keeps going for nearly 7.9 km, over fishing boats, fish-farm buoys and a string of little islands, with the water shifting from pale green to deep navy underneath. It is less a way of getting somewhere than the main event. On Hon Thom you land in a day of Aquatopia water park, the Exotica village and a beach, all on the same ticket. Take one of the last cabins back and you watch the sun drop behind the Sunset Town rooftops from above.
