The southern end of Beach Road, from the South Pattaya Rd junction to Bali Hai Pier

Around 6pm the south end of Beach Road closes to traffic and, beyond the entrance arch, the neon switches on all at once. Both sides of the roughly one-kilometre strip are lined with clubs, live-music bars, beer bars and go-go bars, while the middle of the road is a scrum of touts, gawkers and street performers. A few bars set up rings for Muay Thai bouts. Many visitors treat it as a walk-through to see what Pattaya nightlife looks like rather than a place to settle in. Keep going and the street ends at Bali Hai Pier and the sea.
