Address
5 Avenue Anatole France at the north end of the Champ de Mars, 7th arr.; for the classic front-on photo, cross the Seine to Place du Trocadéro

From the railings of Place du Trocadéro the whole tower fits in one frame across the Seine. Around 8am the steps are nearly empty; by midday the railings are lined with people and hawkers. Walk down through the gardens and over the bridge and you are under the legs in about 15 minutes. Take the lift to the summit deck and the bends of the Seine and the avenues fanning out from the Arc de Triomphe read like a map. After dark the whole tower sparkles white for five minutes on the hour, so time your walk for it.
