A black box set down beside the river, opened in 2022. The collection centres on modern and contemporary art, and special exhibitions have their own ticket prices. Inside, big airy spaces open up and the river-side windows frame Nakanoshima. It neighbours the National Museum of Art and the science museum, so the whole island makes a day.
