Cross two moats, pass the Sakuramon gate, and the keep rears up over the massive stone walls in green tiles and gold leaf. The current building is a 1931 concrete reconstruction, so inside it is less a castle than an eight-floor museum about Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the castle's history. A lift takes you to the 5th floor, stairs do the rest, and the 8th-floor lookout wraps around the park's woods and the city skyline. The park is free, and just walking the moats easily fills an hour.
