The Daruma chain started here in 1929, on the old Luna Park site in Shinsekai, under the name 'Takobishi'. The flagship is just a 12-seat counter, so you sit right at the fryer. Original beef skewers start at ¥154, cheap enough to order one at a time, and the oil is clean and never gets cloying. One rule: dip once in the shared sauce. Want more?
