⚠ Liveliest morning to lunch
- Hours
- Varies by shop; most open in the morning and close before evening (check on site)

- Free to enter; you pay for what you eat
- Address
- Nipponbashi 2-chome, Chuo Ward: about 580 m of covered market lanes starting outside Nipponbashi station Exit 10
The market roof starts the moment you leave Nipponbashi station. Around 150 shops, roughly half of them fishmongers, crowd a grid of covered lanes, and many set out fatty-tuna sushi, grilled scallops, crab legs and sea urchin to eat on the spot. Plenty have multilingual menus taped up, so ordering is easy. Prices are set for visitors, though, so think of it as a place to taste something very fresh, a bite at a time, rather than a cheap way to fill up.
