Opened in 1970, still under US rule, this is Okinawan home cooking in a room of tatami and tables where locals and travellers sit side by side, with about 50 dishes on the wall. The usual orders: goya champuru (bitter melon stir-fried with tofu, egg and pork), rafute (pork belly braised in soy and brown sugar), and peanut tofu. The daily lunch sets reportedly sell out within an hour.
