Vinpearl's resort on Hon Tre, the island facing Nha Trang. It opened in 2003, was refurbished in 2016 and has more than 530 rooms. Step outside and there's a private beach and a big pool, and VinWonders, the theme and water park, is about a kilometre away, which keeps kids busy all day. The flip side: even dinner in town means crossing the water, so treat it as a stay-on-the-island day.
