A beer hall that began as the royal brewery in 1589. Walk into the ground-floor Schwemme and long wooden tables run on under painted vaults while a band in lederhosen blasts brass from the centre stage. When the tune turns to 'Ein Prosit', the whole room hoists its litre mugs. Yes, it's full of tourists, but regulars still keep their own steins locked on the wall by their Stammtisch. Sit at any free spot; sharing tables is normal.
