A long park northeast of the Old Town; the surf wave is at its south tip, under the bridge beside the Haus der Kunst

A park bigger than Central Park, and the entrance alone is a scene: under a road bridge a single standing wave churns in a stream, and wetsuited surfers queue on both banks to drop in one at a time. The Eisbach wave vanished after a riverbed clean-out in autumn 2025, and surfing was allowed again in May 2026, for experienced surfers only. Walk north and the Monopteros, a round temple on a grassy hill, lines up the Old Town towers; further on, the Chinese Tower presides over a 7,000-seat beer garden. In summer people float down the channels past the sunbathers.
