Say 'Augustiner' to a Munich local and they think of the beer. This is the cellar that pours it straight from wooden barrels. In summer a huge beer garden opens under old chestnut trees; in colder months the action moves into the restaurant and the vaulted Lagerkeller. On 13 Oct 2026 the official site read 'restaurant open, beer garden closed'. From November to February they lay ice in the yard for Eisstock (Bavarian curling) and rent shepherd's wagons as private tables.
